Some of you folks may have noticed that I did not put out a newsletter last weekend. I have no excuse for this other than the fact that I was out of energy.
Running DelightChat during the week can get hectic and therefore staying productive during the weekend can sometimes get difficult.
This gets coupled with the fact that I do not always know what I am going to write about. I usually pick up topics that I find fascinating and unfortunately I do not get fascinated every week.
However, I do not intend to stop doing this, because it turns out that the joy that I receive when I look at the open rate of 50% on my newsletter or when I find out that someone on twitter had shared my blog post, or maybe my post on reddit blows up is worth all of this effort.
So I figured if I feel low on energy or have writer’s block I would write something really small or perhaps make a tweet as opposed to not writing anything at all.
I ended up writing a micro blog post on how to use abstract models in Django followed by a tweet that summarizes the usefulness of this approach.
I enjoyed writing this piece because it is one of those things which make me feel powerful as a programmer where you do something once and you never have to do that same thing again.
See you next Sunday ✌️
